Home!
Just pulled in the driveway. I am waiting for Gary to "break into" our house. If you remember from the beginning - the batteries went dead in our keypad. Anyway, we are home - had a great trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dinner in Ludington
We are going to stop for dinner in Ludington because neither Vicki nor myself are cooking anything when we get home. We are about 30 miles south of Ludington right now. It won't be long now!!!!
MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!
Just passed into Michigan!!!!!! Should be home by 8PM this evening. It is always great to go on vacation, but it is even better to be back in your own bed,
On our way
We are getting fuel and will be on our way. If all goes well, we will be home this evening. We are all ready to be in our own beds!

Newton, IA
We are in Newton, IA for the night - about 30 miles east of Des Moines. Had dinner and now are in for the night. The only notable thing that happened today was that we were passed by a cattle semi truck and our truck was totally sprayed - the pee was coming out of the side of the trailer! I was quite pleased that we were in the truck and not on a motorcycle. Well, we only have one more long day on the road. Our plan is to be home Saturday morning, although we are only 576 miles from home and depending on how things go tomorrow - we could be home tomorrow evening.
In Iowa
We are now on I-80 on our way to Des Moines, IA, 112 miles. It is soooooo windy. Between the wind and the road, we are having major turbulence! I dozed off for a few minutes but that was it - we are bouncing along like a new baby on daddy's knee!
Somewhere in South Dakota
Here's Gary and I going down the road. I have a blanket over my head because of the cold wind coming in through the door!
Left Murdo, SD
Left Murdo, SD at 8AM this morning. We have 174 miles to go and then we will be getting on I-29 to go to I-80. A long couple of days of driving as we do not have any sightseeing trips planned. It is just time to head home!

Murdo, SD
We are now in Murdo, SD for the night. Going to grab a bite to eat. At this point in time when you are starting home, you get anxious to get there and I can't wait to get home. We have had a GREAT time but now I just want to be home and see my dog! Won't really be too much to write about now but I will keep you all informed about where we are along the way.
On our way home!
We went through Sturgis and went to the Full Throttle Saloon. I have a couple pictures of it. We are now on our way home and will stay in Murdo, SD tonight. Will let you know when we get there :)
Sturgis, South Dakota
We are now in Sturgis, SD. I am not sure what we are going to do here or where we are going from here but Gary is buying T-shorts right now.
Mt. Rushmore
Here are pictures going to Mt. Rushmore, at Mt. Rushmore and leaving. We are now in Rapid City for lunch then on to Sturgis.
In South Dakota
We are in South Dakota and only 4 miles from Crazy Horse. We decided to do that first and then Mt. Rushmore and then if the guy Gary bought thr truck from calls back, we will go to Sturgis, otherwise we will start home from Mt. Rushmore. Pictures to follow if I continue to have service. It is real iffy out here!
2 hours to Mt. Rushmore
Going for breakfast and then off to see Mt. Rushmore & Crazy Horse. Bet you can't wait to see the pictures!!!

Gillette, WY
We are in Gillette, WY for the evening. Just had dinner and now are relaxing in our room. It is really cold and the heater in the truck is nothing like a heater in a new vehicle. I am not sure it is putting any heat out at all. The box is a little warm but that is about it. Gary and I have enough padding that we shouldn't be getting cold though! I have a blanket to cover up but there is a cold draft coming in. I am wearing a little warmer clothes tomorrow and am going to buy a sweatshirt or two :)
Here are a couple pictures of a tunnel in the mountain that we went through today. The sun and the dirty windshield make is hard to see but the first one is outside the tunnel and the second one is inside the tunnel.

36 miles from Gillette, WY
I believe we will be staying in Gillette, WY tonght. It will then be only 120 miles to go tomorrow to Sturgis.
Casper, WY
Passed through Casper, WY on our way to I-90. We have about 235 miles to Sturgis. We won't make it to Sturgis tonight but will still have time to go to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Weather has turned cold but no snow other than on the mountain tops which is good. I have to put my flip flops away and get my tennis shoes out, UGH! I am also probably going to have to buy a couple sweatshirts as all I brought were T-shirts.
70 miles from Rawlins, WY
We are now about 70 miles from Rawlins, WY. Again, I am having a difficult time breathing. Not a whole lot to see today. It was pretty this morning but now it is pretty flat.
Another long day of driving
We are 10 1/2 hours away from Sturgis so this will be a long driving day. I am not sure that we will make it there today, but we will be close and ready to hit Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse tomorrow. There may not be a lot to post today but I will keep you informed on where we are.

Coalville, UT
We are in Coalville, UT for the evening. I doubt we will get to Sturgis tomorrow but will definitely be there Wednesday morning and still have time to Mt. Rushmore & Crazy Horse. That's the plan for now anyway.
More mountain pictures
I am sure you all are probably getting tired of seeing the mountain pictures but it was so beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. These pictures are west of Provo, UT on US 189.
